I have two areas of great pride in my life. One is my family and the other is being an educator, 11 years of which was spent teaching students with learning disabilities. From teaching high school students back in the 90’s, to ending my career at an elementary school, the lessons I learned and skills I developed are countless. I have fallen in love with hundreds of students and their families over the years, and advocating for each of them along the way gave me a great perspective on how to love people right where they are, and give them the tools to follow their dreams.

My hope is for HIDDEN MAGIC to be one of those tools. It was born of wanting a book, and hopefully series, in which all kids can see themselves in its pages and learn empathy from Miles’ struggles to love and accept himself, stutter and all. Gaining tools to stand up for yourself to bullies, or self-confidence to speak for others are tucked in these pages.
