A little about Amy

I am a former special education teacher turned author and am in the process of querying (looking for an agent for my non-author friends) my first book, HIDDEN MAGIC.

HIDDEN MAGIC is a middle-grade (ages 8-12) book with a touch of magic, a lot of adventure, and a learning to love yourself theme. Written for fans of HUMMINGBIRD by Natalie Lloyd in being careful what you wish for and WINK by Rob Harrell in loving yourself despite things you’d rather change, it will have wide appeal as it’s full of relatable themes and loveable characters.

I love all things reading and writing, and I think that books are the keys to open worlds we may never visit. Reading good books can give you the courage to face your fears or laughter to get you through tough times, and I hope that HIDDEN MAGIC can do both.

The book’s main character, Miles Knight, has a stutter and would do just about anything not to have it. New friends, Cameron (Cam) and Sofia help navigate this new world of Blue Eagle Elementary and are just the people Miles needs. The bullies…not so much.

A spooky principal, hidden room, magic water, ancient poem, and eagle-guarded bookcases are just a few threads that weave HIDDEN MAGIC together.
